On July 9, 2026, K-9 Deputy D. Dowling with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office arrested Peter Stefani (11/7/2000) of Cedar Key after locating him at the Marathon convenience store in Bronson. Deputy Dowling was aware Stefani had an active felony warrant for Violation of Probation which stemmed from prior charges of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
Deputy Dowling discovered Stefani was carrying approximately $2,530 in U.S. currency and a loaded Glock .45 caliber handgun in his waistband during the arrest. As a convicted felon, Stefani is prohibited under Florida law from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Stefani was charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of Ammunition by a Convicted Felon in addition to being arrested on the active felony warrant.
Stefani was booked into the Levy County Jail and is currently being held with no bond.
