Additional Charges Filed in Child Sexual Abuse Investigation

Jul 14, 2026

In February 2026 the LCSO opened an investigation on Peter Jacobs (7/8/89) of Morriston based on a complaint he was having inappropriate contact with minors. On 6/9/26 Jacobs was arrested by the LCSO Criminal Investigations Division and was charged with 14 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). He has been held in the Levy County Detention Center on a $350K bond since his arrest.

The investigation continued despite his arrest. Detectives found additional evidence which led to the identification of additional crimes. On 7/11/26 Jacobs was charged with two counts of Capital Sexual Battery on a Child Under 12. These new charges, if convicted, could lead to a life sentence in prison. Jacobs will continue to be held with NO Bond pending trial.

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to aggressively investigating crimes against children and working with our law enforcement partners to ensure offenders are held accountable. We recognize the tremendous courage it takes for victims to come forward, and we remain dedicated to seeking justice on their behalf. Cases do not always end with the arrest of the perpetrator. Detectives continue to investigate to ensure all crimes have been uncovered and appropriately charged.
