Jail Visitation Hours, Rules and Dress Code

Remote visits are the only visits that are allowed at this time and for the foreseeable future this will remain in effect.

The remote visits are 25 cents per minute and can be scheduled by visiting www.smartjailmail.com where you will create an account and schedule visits. Any device that has internet access can be used for a visit.

Schedule for Visitation

  • Friends and family may schedule visits seven days a week that they are available during the hours of 8am-11am. (No times are allowed during the times from 11:30 am to 12pm due to the Lunch meal being served.)
  • 12pm-5pm (5pm-6:30pm No times are allowed due to the evening meal and facility count being conducted.)
  • 6:30pm-9pm in the evenings.
  • Visits can be scheduled for 15 or 30 minute times. In order to be approved to visit you will need to provide a self-portrait along with a photo of a valid photo ID that includes the same name and address as you list on your profile.
  • All visits are recorded and monitored for security purposes. At any time during the course of a visit that any violation of institutional rules or regulations is discovered it could result in the visit being terminated without refund and could further result in loss of visitation privileges.

Visitation Rules

  • No persons under the age of sixteen (16) will be allowed to visit.
  • Visitors are only allowed to visit one inmate per day. Only one visit per day is allowed per inmate.
  • Profanity, abusive language, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Any of these will be grounds for the visit being PERMANENTLY terminated.
  • Anyone not on an inmate’s visitation list will not be allowed to visit.
  • Anyone that is ordered by the courts to not have contact with an inmate will not be allowed to visit.
  • If you have been incarcerated at the Levy County Jail within the last six (6) months, you will not be allowed to visit.

Dress Code

  • No shorts or skirts above knee length permitted.
  • Shirts must have sleeves and cover entire upper torso.
  • No hats, caps, or do-rags.
  • No tank tops, strapped shirts, tube tops, or halter tops.
  • Shoes must be worn.
  • Any clothing with profane, vulgar, or illegal pictures or language is not allowed.
  • No see-through clothing allowed.

Inmate Mail

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office has contracted with Smart Communication to provide MailGuard electronic mail services for the Detention Bureau. Mail Guard is an efficient way for inmates to receive letters and photos electronically.

Effective April 8, 2019 inmate postal mail must be sent to the following address: LCSO-SCH INMATE NAME – JACKET NUMBER (ID NUMBER) P.O. BOX 1907 PINELLAS PARK, FL 33780. The inmate’s name and jacket/id number must be clearly printed on the outside of the envelope or post card to ensure the mail is posted to the correct account. All regular inmate postal mail (postcards, letters, greeting cards, etc.) will be scanned into the system and available to the inmates to view via the kiosks in the Detention Facility. Upon release, inmates can login on the public website at www.smartjailmail.com and enter their inmate number and password to download their photos, messages and postal mail at no charge. This application will provide you with access to messages, photos and postal mail that was processed through the Smart Jail Mail system while you were incarcerated at the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Detention Bureau.

You will not be able to respond to messages or access request forms, grievances or medical forms through this application. LEGAL MAIL, COURT DOCUMENTS, BANK STATEMENTS, AND PUBLICATION SHALL BE SENT TO LEVY COUNTY DETENTION BUREAU, P.O. BOX 1565, BRONSON, FL 32621.
