Let’s Have a Conversation:
Bridging Generations to Combat Scams and Fraud
A New Approach. A Shared Mission. A Safer Community.
The Levy County Sheriff’s Office is taking a fresh, forward-thinking approach to combating scams and fraud through our “Let’s Have a Conversation” Initiative. This is a community-driven campaign designed to bridge the generational gap and empower residents with the knowledge to recognize, prevent, and report fraud.
As scams become increasingly sophisticated, criminals continue to develop new ways to exploit trust, manipulate emotions, and steal hard-earned money. From impersonating law enforcement officers and government agencies to telephone scams, online fraud, identity theft, and emerging digital threats, no one is immune.
Bringing Generations Together.
Through this initiative, younger members of our community will help educate older adults about emerging scams, evolving fraud techniques, suspicious online activity, and the tactics criminals use to deceive unsuspecting victims. By sharing knowledge, encouraging open dialogue, and learning from one another, we can strengthen awareness and help protect those who may be targeted by these crimes.
Knowledge is Power.
Conversation is Prevention.
Community is Our Strongest Defense.
The Levy County Sheriff’s Office is committed to providing informative, engaging educational opportunities that give residents the tools to recognize warning signs, question suspicious requests, protect personal information, and avoid becoming victims of fraud. Our goal is to create an environment where questions are welcomed, concerns are heard, and no one feels embarrassed or afraid to speak up when something doesn’t seem right.
Scammers rely on secrecy, urgency, fear, and confusion. We’re fighting back with education, communication, and community involvement. Through “Let’s Have a Conversation,” we aim to turn awareness into action, knowledge into confidence, and generations into partners in prevention. Because protecting our community starts with a conversation—and that conversation could prevent someone from becoming the next victim.
