Morriston Man Arrested On Sex Charges

On February 11, 2026 the Levy County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to a report of an adult male having inappropriate sexual contact with a juvenile. Detectives Joe Barrera and Cody Weaver identified Peter William Jacobs (DOB 7/8/89) of Morriston was the suspect in the case. During the investigation, the juvenile victim provided statements consistent with sexual misconduct, and a search warrant was obtained for Jacobs’ cell phone. Detectives observed multiple images consistent with Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) when the data from Jacobs’ cell phone was analyzed. Detectives then obtained an arrest warrant for Jacobs.

On June 9, 2026 Jacobs was arrested for 14 counts of a violation of Florida Statute 827.071 (5)- possession of obscene child sexual conduct material. Each count was assigned a bond of $25,000, totaling a bond of $350,000. Jacobs was booked in the Levy County Detention Center where he will be held pending trial. This investigation continues and additional charges are expected to be filed at a later date.
