On Friday, October 13, 2023 at approximately 6:30 hours LCSO deputies responded to suspicious person with a firearm on Southeast SR 121. After an extensive investigation, deputies determined that John Komorowski confronted two victims with a stolen firearm and demanded a ride to another location. The incident took place near a school bus stop.
One of the victims armed himself during the confrontation and Komorowski fired one round in their direction. No one was injured and the victims called for law enforcement assistance. When deputies arrived Komorowski had inexplicably returned to the scene and he was taken into custody. Deputies recovered a stolen handgun, a stolen wallet and 3.5 grams of methamphetamine from Komorowski.
Komorowski was booked into the Levy County Detention Center on numerous theft, firearm and drug charges. He remains in custody with a bond of $1,050,000.00.
