On May 24, 2023 Levy County Sheriff’s Office Detectives responded to a complaint of sexual misconduct involving a 12 year old female. Detectives interviewed the victim and determined inappropriate sexual conduct occurred between the victim and suspect, Khalid E. Brown (8/25/87) of Bronson, over a period of several months.
Detectives, in cooperation with the Child Protection Team of UF, were able to establish that Brown committed several sexual acts with the child and Detectives arrested him. He has been charged accordingly and is being held on a four (4) million dollar bond at the Levy County Detention Center.
We encourage parents and guardians to continue to make every effort to protect our children from those that would do them harm. Monitor their social media activity, their choice in friends and their behavior. Many times early intervention can prevent a child from falling prey to those with bad intentions. We applaud the bravery of this child who can now rest somewhat easier knowing her abuser will be held responsible for his own actions.
