On June 19th the LCSO Ag Unit responded at the request of the LCSO Patrol Division to a complaint of animal abuse. Deputies responded to citizen complaint of an offensive smell coming from the neighboring property. Deputies on scene identified Tychianna Figueroa (9/27/96) of Bronson as the owner of a rabbit breeding facility.

Figueroa told deputies she began raising rabbits as part of a 4H project and continued on raising them for meat. Deputies saw multiple dead rabbits in enclosures that were in varying states of decomposition. The Ag Unit verified Figueroa was not providing proper care to the surviving rabbits and failed to make appropriate efforts to dispose of the dead and decaying carcasses.

Figueroa was arrested and charged with ten counts of Animals neglect – Unlawful Confinement/Abandonment Of Animals. She has been released from the Levy County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
