Apr 10, 2026

On September 8th, 2025, the LCSO Criminal Investigations Division received information that registered sexual offender Creg Alfonza Brown Sr. ( DOB 2/12/1973) did not report to the LCSO to complete his sexual offender registration for the month of August 2025. On June 18th, 1997 Creg was adjudicated guilty of F.S. 800.04(3) Lewd Assault/Sexual Battery Victim under 16. As a result, Creg was designated as a sexual offender in the State of Florida. Creg was required by law to register as a sexual offender for life and abide by all statutory obligations. Detective Cody Weaver was assigned the case for further investigation.
On September 25th, 2025, Detective Weaver made contact with Creg after several failed attempts. Detective Weaver found evidence of multiple violations. Following the interview, Detective Weaver arrested and charged Creg with:

F.S. 943.0435 (14a) SEX OFFENDER VIOLATION – FAIL TO REGISTER AS REQUIRED
F.S. 943.0435 (4)(E)2 – Sex Offender – Failure To Report Employment Change/Phone Number Change
F.S. 943.0435 (4e1) – Failure to Register Electronic Mail Address / Internet Identifier, X2

Creg was held in the Levy County jail on a $100,000 bond since his arrest.

On April 8th, 2026, Creg entered a plea and was sentenced to 8.5 years in the Florida Department of Corrections. Sheriff McCallum, along with the men and women of the Levy County Sheriff’s Office, take a zero-tolerance approach towards sexual offender violations and will investigate each accordingly.
