Training Division

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office Training Division is comprised of a Lieutenant, a Detention Sergeant, and a Law Enforcement Sergeant. The Division is responsible for developing, delivering, and overseeing training and professional development for all sworn/certified as well as civilian personnel. The division’s mission is to ensure officers are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and ethical mindset to perform their duties safely, effectively, and professionally.
The Training Division conducts the initial orientation phase new members. The training is conducted through classroom settings and practical exercises. The topics include but are not limited to:
- High Liability Topics
- Levy County SO Policy and Procedures.
- In-Service Training
The Training Division assists with all specialized teams/units to include the Tactical Response Unit, Honor Guard Team, and the Dive Team/Marine Unit.
In addition, the Training Division is responsible for ordering, issuing and maintaining property inventories for all LCSO members.
Once the initial orientation training is complete, the new sworn members enter into the Field Training Program (FTO). The orientation training phase provides new deputies and detention officers with the skills and knowledge to complete the field training program before they embark on a rewarding career which focuses on service to the citizens of Levy County.
