On December 21, 2025 Deputies responded to the Morris Junction Gas Station in reference to a burglary with property damage. Deputy Izabella Luzader spoke with the business owner who reported when he arrived to the store for opening he noticed a window broken and merchandise taken.
Deputy Luzader reviewed surveillance footage and requested assistance from Crime Scene personnel to collect key pieces of evidence. Crime Scene Detectives located shoe impressions and the path where the suspect gained access to the business. Deputy Luzader developed Zachary Meeks as a suspect. Meeks resided in the area and frequented the store. Evidence revealed Meeks parked his vehicle a short distance away from the business and approached on foot. He concealed his face and hands while he broke a window to steal merchandise from inside.
Deputy Luzader located and interviewed Meeks at his residence in Morriston. Meeks told Deputy Luzader he acted out of frustration because the business owed him money. Deputy Luzader placed Meeks under arrest. Meeks was charged with criminal mischief over $1,000.00, burglary of an unoccupied structure, grand theft and violating the terms of his probation.
Meeks is currently in custody with No Bond at the Levy County Detention Center.
