Bryan Cardozo-Mendieta (11/27/2004) of Morriston was arrested on December 18th 2025 for Lewd and Lascivious Molestation, Transmission of Harmful Material to a Minor, and Resisting Arrest. The criminal investigation launched by Detective Ryan Sullivan and Detective Cody Weaver in December discovered Mendieta was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile.
Detectives discovered that Mendieta was communicating with the juvenile using instant messaging phone applications. Detectives continued the investigation and executed a search warrant on Mendieta’s phone that had been seized during his arrest.
Detectives discovered over 500 images and videos of child sexual abuse material. Of these images, 24 had previously been confirmed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as known child sexual abuse material.
On January 5, 2026 Detectives filed 24 additional counts of possession of CSAM. Mendieta is being held on No Bond at the Levy County Detention Center.
