Levy County Drug Task Force Arrests Suspect Following Major Narcotics Investigation

The Levy County Drug Task Force assisted by the Criminal Investigations Division (CID), Patrol Division, Crime Scene Investigations (CSI), K-9 Unit, and Tactical Response Unit (TRU), executed a search warrant on December 9, 2025 at 11851 NE 86th Lane. This operation was the culmination of a many months of investigation into the illegal narcotics activities of Trevor Stewart.

Deputies and detectives located several individuals inside the main residence and in campers on the property upon their arrival. Stewart was located in one of the campers and immediately taken into custody without incident.
Javier Carranza-Chaves was located on the property and detained. Detectives discovered that he had an active warrant issued from the State of Georgia. Further investigation revealed he was also wanted for an immigration violation and an ICE detainer had also been issued for him. Javier Carranza-Chaves was placed under arrest and transported to the Levy County Detention Center where he will await extradition by ICE.

A comprehensive search of the property resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • 9 bottles of Promethazine with Codeine syrup, totaling 5,217 grams (above trafficking threshold)
  • 4.2 pounds of Methamphetamine (above trafficking threshold)
  • 10.9 grams of Cocaine
  • 3.9 grams of Fentanyl
  • 4 firearms and a large quantity of ammunition, two of the firearms were confirmed stolen; one from Levy County and the other from a nearby jurisdiction.

The successful and safe execution of this search warrant underscores the Levy County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to combating illegal narcotics activities and removing dangerous drugs and weapons from the community.
Sheriff Bobby McCallum said, “This case is a testament to the dedication and teamwork of our deputies and detectives. By removing dangerous drugs, stolen firearms, and those who distribute them from our streets, we’re making Levy County a safer place for our citizens.”

Stewart was transported to the Levy County Detention Center where he faces multiple charges, including; trafficking in controlled substances, possession of firearms by a convicted felon, and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. Stewarts total bond after first appearance was set at $1,025,00.00.
