February 10th, 2014 members of the Levy County Sheriff’s Office and
C.O.P. (Citizens on Patrol) volunteers met to recognize the 2013 C.O.P.
Volunteer of the Year. The C.O.P. Program is made up of civilian volunteers who
donate their time and talents to assist the Sheriff’s Office. These volunteers
provide assistance with traffic control, funeral escorts, special events,
courthouse duties and other needs.  These
volunteers assist both LCSO and every taxpayer with their volunteer service to
the County.

McCallum was honored to deliver this year’s C.O.P. Top Volunteer award to
Stella Damann. Sheriff McCallum said “Every C.O.P. Member is deserving of this
award but we can only pick one.” Stella joined the C.O.P. Program in 1994, and
since then has donated almost 4000 hours. Please join in congratulating Stella
for her accomplishments and award.

members and staff enjoyed a great meal of barbequed chicken (prepared by Lt.
Shawn Hunt and Deputy Keith O’Steen) followed by delicious desserts (prepared
by Mrs. Wilda Long and Mrs. Laurie Beauchamp) as an expression of our gratitude
for the hours they volunteer.
